When lobbyist Alex Hur asked development and operations director Samantha Kersul to marry him on their fifth anniversary, he had planned a fairy-tale helicopter ride overlooking Lake Union. Unfortunately, the winds were too strong for lift-off. He knew he didn’t want to wait, so with a change of plans, he handed his football-loving gal a Seahawks street sign with a special message he had inscribed by coach Pete Carroll that read, “Samantha, just say yes!”
Because Samantha and Alex had bonded over their love of food, their priority was to ensure that there was delicious cuisine for all to enjoy. Guests dined on a dinner buffet by Farestart that included Parmesan gnocchi, tender beef short ribs and Northwest-cherry-glazed, barbecued chicken. The night also included a Seahawks ice sculpture (another football-related surprise, this time for Alex), footballs for guests to sign in lieu of a guestbook, and, of course, an incredible view of CenturyLink Field from the eighth floor of Pacific Tower.
